In 1979, Tom Sharp, Jr. purchased a small already established radio repair shopt, and, along with one employee, began his own company. Today, Sharp Communication operates out of 9600 square foot facilities at 3403 Governors Drive, in Huntsville, Alabama, with 30+ fulltime employees. A small sales & service shop is located in Cullman, Alabama for the convenience of our customers in that area.

Alabama General Contractor's License
We hold a valid General Contractor's license for the state of Alabama, with an unlimited bid limit. We are authorized to perform Telecommunications Projects, Sound and Intercom, Fire Detection, Signal and Burgler Alarm Systems. These areas cover all of our wireless, security and public safety aspects.

Radio Systems

• We own and operate trunked 2-way radio systems, and several community repeater systems.
• For several years, we owned and operated several 800 MHz trunked radio systems in North Alabama.
• Over the years, we have consulted for many radio communications companies and dealers, and assisted in the design and installation of their radio systems.

Sales
Our sales staff has many years of combined experience and consult with our customers to hlep determine the most cost-effective and efficient product and service needs. All have undergone Motorola product training, and have earned certification as Radio Communication Representative - some have achieved Professional certification.

Technical Services

• We provide technical service and maintenance of two-way radio equipment, and have several maintenance contracts with customers, including privately owned and public service organizations. Key customers include:
  • The City of Huntsville
  • Madison County
  • The City of Madison
  • Huntsville Emergency Medical Services, Inc
  • Huntsville/Madison County Airport Authority and others
  • We maintain the City of Huntsville's SmartNet system
• Our highly skilled technical staff is trained in all areas of the products and services we offer, providing state-of-the-industry testing and repair facilities and equipment.
• Our service department personnel participate in ongoing training, and many are vendor certified. Our technicians are ETA Certified Electronics Technicians.
• We are a Certified Service Center.

Mobile Radio Sales & Service

• As a Motorola Authorized Two-Way Radio Dealer, we provide the latest state-of-the-art communications equipment for commercial, industrial and public safety users.
• Limited to a select group of dealers, we are a Motorola Authorized Service Station (MSS) authorized by Motorola to provide warranty, installation and repair services for Motorola two-way radio and paging products.

Paging
We own and operate a state-of-the-industry paging system with numerous tower sites linked together providing high power UHF frequency continuous coverage in north Alabama.

Cellular
We serve our local customers with the latest wave in portable cellular communications.

Interoperability
Sharp Communication can provide interoperability between multiple radio systems operating on different frequencies to simplify communications, through our association with Raytheon JPS Communications.

Tower Sites

• We own several tower sites in north Alabama, and, in addition to our own services, the company leases and maintains antenna space for many communications-based companys. Current tower locations include: The Ledges on Huntsville Mountain, Guntersville, Capshaw in Harvest, and in Cullman.
• Our 500 foot free-standing tower located at the Ledges on Huntsville Mountain is home to many organizations who require dependability for their critical communications, including the FBI, HEMSI, Madison County Fire Communications, the Madison County Sheriff's Department, Arch Wireless, USA Mobility, SouthernLINC, BellSouth/Cingular, Corr Wireless, Skytel, T-Mobile, Nextel and others.

Wireless Broadband
We are a dealer for Motorola's Canopy system, wireless broadband for developing, enhancing and extending advanced broadband networks and services. And for making delivery of high-demand technologies like broadband internet access, voice over IP, video services, security surveillance and E1/T2 capabilities much quicker and much less expensive.
